Car sick yet?
Drop numero uno. Becky thought she could take a short cut through the motorcross sands to bypass the washboard road. Turned out to be trickier than the racers made it look.
This guy was amazing. He motorcrossed on over to help Andrew pick up the bike, then he hopped on to get it out of the sand and back on the road.
This is our very own private hot springs tub at Guadalupe Canyon Oasis. It was the ultimate payoff for an “adventurous” ride. We barely made it before 10pm and only beacuse Andrew rode on ahead to drop some gear off to lighten my bike.
Our last night in the states after leaving our gracious Carlsbad hosts, Michael and Jessica.
Becky — always looking for bighorn sheep instead of the road.
Oh Mexico, you have won. The road through these mountains is even more scenic and peligroso than Highway 74 in Southern California.
Thanks motorcross man!
This perro is off the chain!
I can’t believe we did this horrible road again the very next day. Only 2 drops on the way out, plus 4 drops on the way in, for a grand total of 6 drops in two days with just minor bruises. Good job Becky. The KLR is pretty sturdy through, gotta give ’em that.
